Anybody in/know Ottawa?

Post by Gebbeth »

Planning a business trip last week in October in Ottawa - was wondering if we have anybody in the area or who knows the area - I'll have evenings to burn doing something - any recommendations appreciated. Otherwise by buddy Google will be my guide...

I spent about 24 hours in Ottawa a few years ago, so I doubt I qualify for any "insider hints". That was my shortest ever transatlantic business trip. It surely was a nice looking city though.

Ottawa is nice. The people are generally friendly, and surprisingly fit - i.e. not overweight. Lots of bicycles at the government agency I'm at. Ottawa seems very small-town to me, most places, not all. I could get used to it.

The weather has been cool, but pleasant, even in the light wind - not so cold, but the food everywhere is painfully mild/bland. It is a sadness. Going to try a Thai place a short stroll from my hotel, but am prepared for disappointment.

No SWL, no MoM, get back home to my gaming computer Friday night.

Just checking in - Happy hunting, Swords!
