What does your character name/s mean to you?

Some of us have been using a name for years, others have different names for different games, does yours have a story?

When I started playing LotRo I exclusively played elves, my first was named for my daughter, Willow, which was taken so I went with Willowen. A string of tree names suffixed with wen or wing followed. I recycled these names in other games for elven characters but varied names for humans and other races. I started using Fais and Ayya mostly because they were short, and ppl moan about mailing stuff to you if your name is long and difficult to spell!

Kezi first appeared in AoC as a just for fun solo char, she had a mohawk and attitude, and was named for my best friend in my last job.. Kez, 20yrs my junior and reminding me of myself at that age, rebellious, prone to unwise decisions and drawn to entirely the wrong kind of men!
Kezi made a return in SWTOR when I needed a solo for when Andi was at work, she was a fiesty zabrak marauder and I loved her so much she was lvl50 in no time at all, the first time I've ever enjoyed a dps class so much!
My TSW char was going to be Fais, but Fais is more.. sensible.. reliable.. maybe even *gasp* a little dull! I wanted a free-spirit so Kezi won, and here we are!
Hope I haven't bored you too much, and that you'd like to share your stories. ;)

Venator is hunter in latin. Firts well as codename and looks good, imo. Originally Venatori Umbrorum was intended to be the name for cabal, when more of my friends were eager to join (most reamin in SWTOR now though :/), and comes from Dresden Files series. They are secribed as "like the Masons, but with flame throwers.", which looked really good in TSW setting. But finally idea with cabal was abandoned, and after some pondering, Venator became just nickname.

Way back when EQ2 went live, I jumped ship from WoW to check it out. I had played Ultima Online, EQ1, and WoW for quite a few years and had always used the name Ozani. I am a one character per game kinda player and never really made many alts. However, when EQ2 went live, I had made an ozani Illusionist and didn't quite like it. Not wanting to delete it, I used the Random name generator and it came up with Kiwen. Not wanting to sound like a fruit (it seemed too close to Kiwi for me!!) I changed it to Kewin... Everyone called me Q, and it stuck. There are now Kewin's in every major mmo that came out!!!

As for the Nuitari, I am a huge Dragonlance fan. Given the chance to pay homage to Margaret and Tracy in a not so obvious way, I choose my favorite character's (Raistlin Majere) god.

Aralon was the first ever MMO name I ever had. Most of the time it is taken, but when it is not I use it :-)

Boring story but still

Uragon was actually something I made up on a whim when starting to play Anarchy Online. There were a few names I tried first, but given that the game was four years old by that point and didn't have any nickname wipes, there weren't a lot of names available anymore. I still am quite fond of the name, however right now it's degraded to being my first name. :)

Durendal came to be when I bought the Grandmaster pack and suddenly had two names available for reservation. The obvious thing about it being the sword name. I stumbled across it when trying to find a sword name for the leadership division, which is actually still ongoing... However, the clever thing about it is the fact that my RL first name is Roland and Durendal was Sir Roland's sword.

I hate to say I have a theme with my names but I guess I do. I figured being such games as they were, I was going to end up dying... a lot, so I figured why not have a little meaning to all my deaths? My first MMO was FFXI and I named my character Yorick from Hamlet, probably my favorite Shakespeare play.

After that I started World of Warcraft and sadly Yorick was taken, obviously its a little popular. So I fell back on one of my favorite video games of all time, Marathon. The Marathon Trilogy is basically the precursor to Halo, made by Bungie. Its mostly the same type of story line but told in a much different fashion. Instead of in game cinematics or the like (considering the game was made in the mid 90's) the story was told through computer screen messages. Everything that you needed to know had to be read. In one of the more obscure messages there was mention of two gods that created the planet you were fighting on at the time, and the creatures you were trying to save. Here's the message: "In primordial space, timeless creatures made waves. These waves created us and the others. Waves were the battles, and the battles were waves. Fleeing all W'rkncacnter, Yrro and Pthia settled upon Lh'owon. They brought the S'pht, servants who began to shape the deserts of Lh'owon into marsh and sea, rivers and forests. They made sisters for Lh'owon to protect and maintain the paradise. When the W'rkncacnter came, Pthia was killed, and Yrro in anger, flung the W'rkncacnter into the sun. The sun burned them, but they swam on its surface." And thus Pthia the rogue was created. After that, I ended up making several alts, a few named after the moons of Lh'owon. K'lia, T'jia, and Y'loa. And out of nowhere I basically created Zithia my shaman from pure uncreativity. Zithia eventually became my main character and was a badass healer. In time it became an odd occurrence that I would end up being the last one alive on raid wipes or sometimes even the last one standing on boss kills. And yet I had a huge number of falling deaths, probably one of the highest in my guild.

And so Fall was born, partially out of how many times I've died from falling, and partially out of love for a certain webcomic character. Considering that character's background from the webcomic, it fit all too well with this game. Have a link and see for yourself : http://pd.milkinthepantry.com/info-bios-fall.html

Oddly enough, this game doesn't have Fall damage. Its like I'm being mocked. Oh well, may the death continue!!

Now I'm surprised you didn't roll a "Kenny" yet. Though I'd guess you have to be really quick to grab that name.
