Announcement and Application
Game System: The Secret World/Modern Exploits
Skill Level: Any
Max # Players: 6-8 (preferred) -flexible.
Current Status: Game OPEN for 1 positions - team fit
Tools Used: Primary: Forum LINK HERE (see our thread)
Post Frequency: Fast Paced - 1/2+ One post every two days or better.
Description:
Imagine every story of alien visitors, psychic powers, occult lore, unexplained miracles, strange cults, and secret societies that you’ve ever heard. Now imagine if they were all true, and your job was to investigate them. Welcome to the Secret World
Powerful organizations plot world domination, otherworldly forces infiltrate our power structures, and creatures from our nightmares lurk in the shadows. Working for the Templars, you explore hidden mysteries while eluding forces—both human and 'not' — that scheme to control the truth:
All that you see is not all that there is.
Your character has been recruited the Templars as a provisional mission specialist. If selected for inclusion as part of a mission team, your character will be given access to OSIRS (Operating System for Internal Real-time Security) at an appropriate level for the details of your mission.
Game Concept:
Players will create characters that will become part of Templar Mission teams to complete specific missions. Some of theses missions will be short, and in time as the character grows and he/her security clearance and abilities increase, longer, more complex assignments will be assigned. Characters will navigate the complex organization through each other while assigned to a team, and their OSIRS interfaced computer or cell phone. Players will be expected to solve a few ‘real world’ problems to mimic character problem solving and to draw on “real science” and internet resources to guide their decision making. Players with backgrounds in technology, science, and/or history make preferred character candidates.
Example: Your character’s team finds itself near the little town of Hot Springs, Arkansas but everyone is missing! Templar Hall has dropped you in for “first look recognizance.” The last contact anyone had from the city was from an individual calling from what sounded like a large sporting or entertainment arena according to the ORIRS report filed by the audio specialist. Where will you start your search? (Now typically, most players will start barraging the GM with questions like, so what do I see? Is there a phone book? so and so on. In this campaign, players would be expected to do some research on the problem themselves and come up with at least a place to start.)
How to apply with the Templar's as a provisional mission specialist:
How to apply with the Templar's as a provisional mission specialist:
* First, get a life (a character that is). Create and post (here) an application. You'll need to give us your TSW name, your forum name, and links to your 9-Sword Chronicle story & Character Sheet.
* Second, get a clue (quiz time). Answer the question to the example above in a PRIVATE MESSAGE to Volen. Posting the answer in ‘public’ lets us know two things, A. You don’t follow directions (bad for us), and B. You can’t keep a secret (bad for The Templars).
* You will be contacted if you’ve been selected as a provisional mission specialist. Don’t worry, we KNOW where you are and HOW to get to you!
Need help?… Please READ our game FAQ and ask your team mates first in the coffee bar, then if you are all stuck, please feel free to ask Volen.
When you are ready turn in by posting your interest/app below:
0. Your in-game character name & forums name.
1. 9-Sword Character sheet (You should have it posted in this forum http://www.nine-swords.com/viewforum.php?f=29)
2. Your character background story (You should have it posted in this forum http://www.nine-swords.com/viewforum.php?f=28)
3. and the answer to the example question from the advertisement (PM it to Volen).
As for ‘how’ to fill the slot - Volen will fill the positions based on "team fit". Only quality submissions accepted.
