Polaris Nightmare in Greens?

Hi,

yesterday I saw a video about a group doing Polaris in green, even though only the Ur Draug part was of any meaningful quality for some reason. Anyway, they had only one green healer and one green tank for Ur Draug and it looked pretty much like our mixed 10.1-10.4 runs lol. That gave me something to think about ^^. So either that was with an earlier version of the game and they now have made Polaris much harder (I would expect Ur Draug to wipe that green tank with one Cleave), or we are doing something wrong in out 18s runs.

My idea would really be to do Polaris in a full blue group first, just the way it was intended. Green might be a little bit too extreme. Downside of blue gear is that unless you have such items (I dont) one would need to farm them in Elites first, as they are quite expensive in the auction house and I would not buy them there ^^.

Would anyone be interested in doing Polaris and maybe more in blue/green gear? This should then also be experienced players so that at least the amount of unnecessary wipes is kept to a minimum.

My guess why a green run like that looks relatively easy is that it's mainly really good players looking for a challenge that perform those. Whereas an average ungeared person doesn't only lack the gear, but also the knowledge about what to do. So uh... if you're looking into braving this kind of challenge, make sure you're targeting the right kind of co-players. I wouldn't try this with NM beginners, unless your plan is to get severely demoralized by the first one or two bosses.

Yes I know I just added that one ;). Its about experienced players who have run 18s for quite a few times and have a high survivability. Of course in our normal 18s run even the people I would consider experienced, and me too btw, make stupid mistakes every now and then but that usually originates from lack of respect and concentration for an 18s run ^^. I also often die because I forget to put in SoH in Polaris, and then just wondering where that button is instead of trying to survive without it and stuff like that. But thats something you can turn off on demand.

I don't know, currently i enjoy helping beginners more than i would like to try and clear it in greens/blues.

I'm currently also very busy testing various decks/weapons for tanking.. to provide the info in my soon to be awesome tanks tanking guide.

But these things are a lot of fun so i wish you luck! :D just won't be with me any time soon :(!
