HOW TO: Adding an event to the 9S Calendar
Posted: Sun Jul 12, 2015 2:40 pm
Everyone in Nine Swords is encouraged to schedule events - and when you do so, to post them here in our Noticeboard forum area and create an "Associated Event" so that it shows up on our calendar.
To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Create a new thread in the Noticeboard forum area
2. Give your event a "Subject name" that means people know what you are doing and when!
As an example:
3. In the new thread you create, you need to explain what you are doing and how.
Sometimes events that are scheduled are only going to be viable for members with certain gear levels or that comply with certain game mechanics. You need to specify this in your thread. It is also helpful to state how many people can attend - this is especially useful with a dungeon run where you are limited to 5 team members with certain roles needing to be fulfilled.
As an example:
Below the main post area of your new thread, you should see these tabs - you need to click the "Associated Event" tab
As you can see, you need to then fill out:
* This is based on your forum timezone settings - so if the event starts at 2pm for you - thats what you put in this box, the forum will automatically adjust this time to everyone elses forum settings when they look at this event.
** Similarly, if the event ends at 5pm for you, put that in this box and then the forum will do its work for everyone else based on their own forum settings.
5. Click Submit
When you are done, click submit and your thread will be posted into the Noticeboard area forum and your calendar entry will show at the top of our forums as well as on our news page in the "Upcoming Events (Within next 31 days)" section.
