so planning a upgrade on my computer so far this is what I've selected. any thoughts?

at this point, I've only went through Newegg. not worried about specific prices, atm, more on build, when i get close to buying time ill look for cheapest price at different locals.

I think you can get better RAM for that price. I'm not positive, but I got 16GB of faster ram than that for under $100 6 or 7 months ago. My favorite brands are Kingston (HyperX) or Corsair. Other than that it looks good. I personally haven't used a Gigabyte motherboard before, but I've heard that they're solid.

im using a gigabyte right now, and i like it for the price and features

Going by the site Hoozer linked here is the system I am building. No monitor/mouse/keyboard incluced cause I already have.

And it can run TSW on DX11 with everything maxed at around 30-40 FPS. I dont know what your limit is, but my current one is roughly $1200 to buy. $300 above the cost the linked above.

You dont need 16gb ram, 8 would be more than enough, SSD hard drive would help alot with loading and an i7 would be better than the i5 but will still do the job.

I also went for 16G in ours, not because I needed it but because I didn't want to bother with upgrading RAM at a later point and it really didn't make for a huge increase in price. Plus more RAM always means more disk caches these days, and that's never a bad thing.

SSD I can absolutely second, I love the loading speed increase it brings.

I also ended up with an i5, because hyper threading really isn't all that great and the 100 MHz difference didn't warrant the significant increase in price that came with an i7. Went for an i7 on my laptop though, as there the better on-chip graphics actually do make a difference.

im not ready to switch to SSD i dont think the price is worth it...concidering i could raid for speed....even if it isnt as fast its still faster then just 1 hd... and prob still cheaper the SSD with alot more space...

SSD is wonderfull, my system boots in about less then 10sec

I really -want- an SSD, but I am still hesitant because of the higher failure rate with SSDs. I think in a year or two they will have those things fixed and it they will drop in price and increase in reliability.
