I almost can't believe it. I read about it or at least tried to read some US commentary on the protests.. there was virtually nothing.

Some people don't even seem to know what the whole movement is about and all the media coverage seems to be done by independent sources (read as bloggers, youtubechannels and small media companies).

But yeah, thankfully the majority of America is aware that anything Fox news says about a political movement is the opposite of whats actually happening.

Democrats are blaming Republicans
Republicans are blaming Democrats

The NYPD are saying the protests are riots, so it ok to use force... oops video camera everywhere.

Meanwhile you've got unions and the tea party protesting the same thing on the same block.

You forget that almost everyone is now switching to the Libertarian and Independent parties. Everyone is realizing we gave the Republicans and Democrats too much power....ah I love the smell of people coming to their senses in the morning

the protests are riots... there is violence all over the place, people doing totally uncalled for things and generally breaking the law... oh, wait the guys in white and black are the police right???

seriously?? thats batshitcrazy... I mean the whole occupy Wall Street or another place movement is really against everything the Tea Party stands for... I think those guys are the main reason for the protests .. somehow...

I've always been wondering why Wall Street was called wall street. This actually made me make Kate look it up for me. Now I wonder if that wall is still standing!

Is it off topic if this is a random thread? I'm not entirely clear in the rules regarding the limitations of the subject.....not being sarcastic either, I actually have no idea.

Part of me hopes for a bloody and well fought revolution. We've been due for one for a while now, so its high time one got kicked up. Course it could just be a peaceful one too, just needs to happen you know?

It's off topic because it stoppped being random, and started being about a specific topic. The whole concept of a random thread is to not have a topic, isn't it?

I think what Ura is saying is that the off topic thread suddenly has a topic
