The rise and fall of D.O.D.O

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/320 ... of-d-o-d-o

Im not finished this book yet, but it is very interesting, it is about time travels, magic explained by quantum mechanics, and the reasons why there is no magic in the world now, though we have historical material about witches and magic from the past. Fun part for me was that i have physics and quantum mechanics when i studied at university, and this book is more or less in consistent with the principles of quantum mechanics :)

Wow, Xzreasel, I put that one straight on my list. I only have the most basic, layman's understanding of quantum theory, but it seems to suggest mind-blowing possibilities.

As Arthur C Clarke famously said: 'Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic'.

I don't want to give you to much spoilers, but i think that concept of how magic have worked in the past and why it didn't work after certain date is quite intresting.

Just finished Alan Garner -- Treacle Walker.

Infused with myth and folklore...profound, but possibly incomprehensible to anyone outside of England. And quite a few in it.

I just looked that up Wasp, looks like I would enjoy that.

I just read The Book of Dust one (la Belle Sauvage) by Philip Pullman which is the prequel to His Dark Materials. As I already read His Dark Materials, I have now jumped to The Book of Dust two (The Secret Commonwealth) which is set 10 years after the end of His Dark Materials.

There is supposed to be a 3rd book - but it is not released yet
If you find yourself forced to mercilessly slaughter your teammates because they become infected with some rare mutation, keep in mind that you are only doing your job -
They would do the same for you.
