After I had the sad duty of releasing two former leaders into their retirement from active leadership, I've now got an opportunity to announce a promotion as well as changes in leadership that give the Dussack division a broader focus and a bigger role in the cabal's running.
A few days ago, BrokenPieces filled the position of Zweihänder's leader, our division which focuses on the PvE activities. As already posted internally, I look forward to an increase of more scheduled events that give everybody the opportunity of attending at those planned events. BrokenPieces has a long history of leading raids in The Secret World, and while currently the only end game activity are lair runs, I'm sure we'll soon also dive back into saving New York from bursting sewage pipes together.
Another major change in Secret World Legends has led to faction conflict being far less relevant than before. As such, our PvP division was slightly overstaffed with two leaders. At the same time, it became clear that with all the fresh blood being swept into the game, we need even more internal community management in the cabal. I have therefore approached Shock G about moving from Misericorde to Dussack. Dussack will also pick up some of its former duties with regards to managing conflicts of interest, mediation and disciplinary activities.
Please join me in the forums to wish both BP and Shock all the best for their new roles here!
Unfortunately for us today, Mellified has decided to step down as leader of our Academy. It was not an easy decision for Mellified, and it is one that he and I have been discussing together for at least the last six months. I cannot say it enough - Real life always comes first in Nine Swords. I feel slightly like a broken record because I said this last less than a week ago, however it is important to say it again!!
Spending time in an online group for many of our members involves logging in, doing something really fun and logging back out again. Our leadership team however take their positions seriously - we work our arses off!! When anything in real life comes along that needs our attention, leaders of Nine Swords have always done all they could not to have to step down - and this has definitely been the case too for Mellfied. I am incredibly thankful for everything Mellified has contributed to Nine Swords, and I know he intends not to leave the cabal - he knows if he does, I would come and find him!
Please all join me in thanking Mellfied for not just leading our Dussack Division (Academy) since winter 2015, but for the overall incredibly supportive leadership he has provided throughout the cabal.
On the 27th May 2013 - one of the best things in Nine Swords history happened and Kisshoten was promoted to leader of our PvE division. You may ask why I consider this as one of the best things in Nine Swords history.. well for sure I am going to explain! Our leadership team is on the whole a really close unit - we think similarly, react to situations knowing how our fellow leaders will also react and we work together as a unit. The "working relationship" I established with Kisshoten over the last 4 years has been nothing but fantastic. It was open, it was honest and I am incredibly thankful for every thing he has contributed to our cabal and leadership team. Most of all I am thankful for the friendship we developed in this time.
Unfortunately, the time has come for Kisshoten to step down as a leader of our cabal. I told him today that I reluctantly accept his decision. Real life always comes first in Nine Swords, and that definitely is something we always want to hold tightly on to. But it is accepted with a heavy heart.
Please all join me in thanking Kisshoten for 4 years of really solid leadership of our PvE division - we defeated so much based on your organisation and your unwillingness to give up!
On the 29th July, we will be kicking off our monthly Sharpening the Blades sessions. The first session will be held by Katelin - however, as we have had so many requests for a more US time-zone friendly time for the event, as we go forwards with it, we will actually be aiming to offer 2 Sharpening the Blades sessions each month (based on whether we have had new recruits in that time).
If you would like to read more about what Sharpening the Blades is, you can do so in our directive: Sharpening the Blades
For the event, you can refer to our Events Calendar and also let us know if you are coming in the Noticeboard forum.
Now that our members are getting themselves settled into SW:L - our leadership team is starting to actively seek out members who are interested in contributing to our divisions.
We have 9 divisions in our cabal with an incredibly varied range of areas where you could get involved. If you think that you could take on organising dungeon runs, help other members, or perhaps have an idea for something new for the cabal - our leadership team wants to know, and we want to hear from you.
Every single division we have is looking for support from our members, so don't be shy! Head over to this directive: Division Overview to find out more.
You may also find that attending the Sharpening the Blades event at the end of July is a good help for you; it will also give you the chance to ask questions about our divisions and how things work! See our events calendar for time and date.
