General:
This is the final boss encounter in the Ankh dungeon. Here you will face two enemies; Melothat and Doctor Klein.
- Melothat is standing in a pool of filth while Klein stands above on a scaffolding surrounding a massive statue.
- To begin the fight, a player (the tank goes first) has to enter through the blue barrier.
- The tank will be placed on either the right or the left side of the platform.
- Once Melothat is dead, everyone must move to the top of the statue and kill Dr. Klein.
- E8+:
- Dr.Klein will buff Melothat. This must be interrupted in elite dungeons at E8+ levels. The tank must run up to interrupt Dr.Klein. In the meantime, Melothat gains a damage shield.
- Once Melothat is dead, Dr.Klein will get two reaper adds, one on each side. These must be killed before Klein takes any damage.
- E14+:
- Melothat will gain stacks that must be purged. Melothat will summon adds that damage group members, and without purge they will do too much damage. These adds can not be killed or tanked.
What the Tank needs to know:
- You must enter the boss encounter area first, and get aggro from Melothat. Before entering you must decide whether to tank on the right or left side corner. Tanks usually stand in the corner to the right of the entrance.
- If you have melee dps in your group, you should try to angle Melothat away from them.
- E8+: You must run up and hit Doctor Klein while he buffs Melothat. This is the only way to make sure Melothat doesn't get too powerful. You can return to Melothat by jumping down on the fallen beam and running back. Be careful not to fall into the filth pool.
What the Healer needs to know:
- Stand on the opposite side of the platform from the tank and Melothat. Melothat does a cleaving attack and it can kill anyone standing too close.
- E14+: The boss will spawn adds that will damage all group members. Make sure to bring group heals for the encounter. If you are able to bring purge to the fight, it will free up the other group members to do increased dps.
What the DPS need to know:
- Stand on the opposite side of the platform from the tank and Melothat. Melothat does a cleaving attack and it can kill anyone standing too close.
- E14+: The boss will spawn adds that will damage all group members. The damage increases if members are in close proximity to eachother. It is usually the responsibility of the dps to bring purges for this boss.
