The Estoc Division (Public Relations)

Welcome to the Estoc Division. The purpose of this division is to maintain and improve communication internally and externally to the cabal. The Estoc Division cascades information regarding Nine Swords events and events that Nine Swords members may wish to be involved in, sources advertising opportunities and helps build friendships and alliances.

It is the aim for all members of the Estoc division to:

Communicate to improve the way forwards for our cabal

• We want to help promote good communication throughout the cabal. This will be achieved via News Posts, Facebook & Twitter Updates, Articles and Events Announcements.
• We also want to ensure the Secret World community knows that we are active. This will be achieved via maintaining good external communication.
• We want to build good relationships with other cabals. We will do this by inviting our friends to events and hopefully organising other opportunities to meet up with each other.
• We want to ensure that we maintain a good cabal image, and that all our cabal members have the chance to get involved. This will be helped by joint tasks with other divisions, event planning and more!

Ranks and Roles of Estoc members

Within the Estoc division is its leader and division staff. Roles of members of this division are presented below.

Promotion of members of Nine Swords into Estoc happens when:

• A member of our cabal displays that they have skills desired within the division
• A member of our cabal has a good attitude towards the tasks of the division
• A recruitment of one of our members into Estoc will positively contribute to the overall needs of the cabal.

The decision for recruitment to this division or promotion within it is made by the leader of the division.

Division Members of Estoc have roles which may encompass any of the following:

• Contributor for The Sword's Edge cabal newsletter
• Contributor across 9S Communication Hubs (e.g. Website articles, Social Media)
• Contributor of media for advertising of the cabal (e.g. Articles, videos, posters...)

The leader of Estoc has roles which encompass:

• Leading the Estoc division with clear goals, tasks and good communication
• Building relationships with other members of the community and cabals to increase public image of Nine Swords
• Helps lead the Estoc Division in finding PR opportunities for advertising and exposure about our events or via surveys

Nine Swords Announcements

Announcements from Nine Swords are written by members of our PR division or by leaders of our cabal. These announcements contain official messages and will be on the home page of our website.

Nine Swords announcements will always include the who, what, where, when, how; it is our aim to uphold an actively updated flow of communication internally and external to the cabal. Where possible, links to similar subject matter will be given, especially if it is a release specific to Nine Swords. With a thorough and concise description of the news being released, we hope to always grab our readers attention and get as many people involved in the current goings on as we can.

Voting and Polls

One of the aims of our Public Relations division is to keep a "finger on the pulse" and always work towards ensuring that the leadership of Nine Swords are familiar with the most recent changes, know what improvements our members would like and to pay attention to everything that is happening within the cabal.

To aid this process, the PR division aim to actively run voting opportunities in our forums and periodic feedback sessions for all members of the cabal to attend.

Getting information from our members on what is perceived as right and wrong within the cabal as a whole can only lead to a stronger future for us all together within Nine Swords.

Alliances and friendships

Why does Nine Swords want Alliances and Friendships? There are many underlying reasons, and those reasons should always be considered by our cabal and its members as well as by those within the community who wish to build relationships with Nine Swords.

Allies are people or groups who can provide Nine Swords with assistance and often, friendship. Nine Swords seeks allies who:

• support our views and causes
• can help solve problems externally to our cabal
• who are willing to provide advice when a different perspective regarding the cabal is required

In return, Nine Swords will aim to:

• ensure effective communication to help form and maintain a positive alliance
• tell our allies what we need as a cabal and listen to what they need in return
• respect that our allies point of view that may sometimes differ from our own
• treat our allies as equals
• spend time with our allies via scheduled and unscheduled events
• resolve any conflicts or disputes at your earliest opportunity
• publicly express support for our allies desired direction.

If you or your cabal are interested in any occasional co-operative events, though not a long term formal alliance with Nine Swords - we want to hear from you too; Successful cooperative events can be the starting points from which strong lasting friendships can be built, and this is most certainly something that Nine Swords would be interested in discussing.
