Hey Claretta,

I'd like to sign up for the NY raid too :)

Have been there only once in a PUG, and we failed as to be expected, so I lack experience, definitely. But while we failed, all said that we tanks did our job pretty good, we made it couple of time to the second phase, tanks grabbed drags, but then the dps and healer were overrun by the zombies.

So, while I might be a noob regarding NY, I guess I could learn it pretty quickly with your help.

Thanks and see you soon :)
I'm not crazy, my reality is just different than yours.

I would also like to try the raid...

My 10.1/10.2 dps drops will probably not be sufficient? But my fist/blood or pistol heal can get to 3.5k heal rate and has about 800 crti rating, maybe that is enough, I dont know :)... My tank is the best geared so far with some talis on 10.4 and all glyphs on 10.4, but dont know if tanking is a good idea when you have never benn there.

Not quite at this stage. :)

Taking new tanks in is the surest way to not complete the raid. This is no slight against them, but just that tanking is technically demanding here, and it takes an hour to teach tanks how to do it. After that hour has passed, everyone else has lost focus.

Therefore, the raid needs one week to teach tanks, next week to down it. After a few wins, it gets easier to teach new tanks what to do.

is my heal/dps enough to participate? For dps, I could get to almost 3.5k attack rating with pure anima and about 800 hitrating & 800 penetration... Combat power 677 (anima not included).

Claretta has a lot more raiding under her belt than I do, so if she contradicts any of this then believe her over me.

That said, the NY Raid in my experience is more about everyone being locked on for their task and less about total stats. Total stats do matter, but in my experience most wipes are because someone wasn't doing their job right and not because everyone just didn't have enough juice.

It's either a failure of tank switching aggro back and forth, or people dying to adds that didn't get killed, or people putting filth in the middle of the battlefield, or something like that which causes the largest number of wipes that I have seen.

I don't think I ever remember a time where the raid I was in did all the extra stuff right and just didn't have enough DPS.

That being said, having more maximized chars does help considerably. DPSs kill adds faster if they have more offensive power, for instance.
