Raid this weekend

Post by Claretta »

In the other thread I expressed an interest in organising a raid this weekend, so this is the separate topic to discuss signups, loot for this raid etc. I'm reluctant to have this labeled as an "official" raid, especially since I just rejoined and don't have the authority to call that. Rather, the purpose of this raid would just be to get things going. More to show it can be completed with what we have than anything else.

People signed up

If you're interested in coming along, just post below. :) To ensure the raid can be completed, I can call upon my network of players if we need to PUG any slots. However, for now I'd like to keep it limited to 9S members and those interested in joining. So far I have the following people expressed interest:

Myself (leecher or DPS)
Ciritty (should be submitting an application to 9 Swords for her Templar character today) (DPS)
Incarnation (likewise) (DPS)
Uragon (healer)
Anatoli (tank)
Katelin (tank)
Kisshoten (DPS or leecher)
Syd (DPS)
Elania (DPS)
Misbeliever (maybe)
Weigelia (DPS)
Lilize (DPS)

Roles can be worked out later. Ciritty and Inc prefer to DPS, but they can both tank as well. I can solo heal, offheal, or just DPS at the same time as healing:

(I like to boast - from a raid a couple of days ago :P )

While I'm aware that Ciritty and Inc are not members as of yet, they are both dear friends, and I'm doing this partly for them, since their guild just imploded due to horrible drama and they're after a new home. I don't want to see them left out of the PvE they enjoy.

loot

Since the goal of this raid is to just get it done, don't really want to heap any other organisational issues ontop. Therefore, I suggest for now loot should just be done on a standard need as you need it basis.

However, if we do start raiding again regularly, this is not a particularly good system to keep going. Loot drops in the raid are not equal. Criterions are almost worthless unless you're a leech healer, tank, or putting them on a PvP set. Astral Fuses are always good. Subway Tokens and the Coney Island Band are overpowered (I have both, which is why I top the DPS chart while still healing almost as much as a pure fist healer). So ideally there'd be a system which recognises these differences in the value of drops.

However, that's a discussion for another time.

Strategy

Closer to the raid I'll post up a brief strat guide for anyone who wants a refresher. The most important things to know are:

1. Podder keeps pods away from group
2. Tanks equalise aggro to keep swaps clean
3. Don't kill fourth Drake until zombies havebeen dealt with
4. Roll out of buff circles if you get targeted by Pure Filth (try not to rely on Rocket Jump - it is too slow and leads to poor DPS uptime)
5. Hide behind cars in Shadow Out of Time so you can keep DPSing during this
6. Take down adds after every Shadow

The whole thing is fairly simple once those 6 points are down. Voice chat shouldn't be necessary, even though it can help certain roles like tank swaps.

I'd really love to raid but I'm unsure if I'll be available.
In all my free time I'll be online just in case the raid is given green light. (I don't see you suggesting any particular time, wouldn't mind this cleared up a bit)

My role is tanking, and I'm capable of doing the raid. I think my previous attempt was quite successful. You can count me in.

Last time were successful in gathering a full cabal raid for 2-3 hours or something. Was fun. I guess we can do this again if we choose the right timing.

I really want another couple of hours screaming "AGGRO!!!111" in vent ;)

Well I have no idea when people will be free, so wanted to see who was interested first. :) I can try and talk to people in game.

I can either leech heal or off-heal tank adds with my PvP heal build. Or bring some mediocre straight DPS.

Also, I'll sign up Kate for this as well ;) with a preference for tanking or alternatively DPS.

Well, actually you still get to fight over who gets to hold aggro. Just I guess in this case it's part of the raid mechanics.

I wouldn't test my luck in case Kate is vengeful :) She might 'forget' to take aggro off me once or twice ^^

Just as a note: I didnt tank the raid yet. I only DPSd (helped with pods).

My preference for time to start is 18:30 GMT.

They would do the same for you.
