Tanking 101 for Mellified - Tuesday 4 November - 2000GMT

Post by Floryn »

We will first do Hell Raised and if time permits we can do Polaris and/or Darkness War.
We need at least one experienced tank in the healer or dps role.

1. Mellified (tank)
2. Broken Pieces (healer - exp tank)
3. Sonno (dps)
4. Kisshoten (dps)
5. Floryn (dps)

I'll bring along either Sonno (does better DPS) or MissRhythm (less likely to pull aggro)
New Name is 'Cholesterol' cause I keep giving people Cardiac Arrests.
Describing MissR's PvP modus operandi.

The two rules of 9S:
1) When in doubt, blame Endo.
2) If you cant blame Endo, blame Sonno.

Thanks for signing up everyone - I'm confused about the time - the headline says 19.00 GMT but the time then says 20.00 GMT????? I've checked my preferences and I'm at GMT normal. 20.00 GMT would be better for me due to home stuff.

Yeah, for me too. 20.00 GMT is when the young one is already asleep. I also would like it to be moved one hour later.

Another thing, can we do 18s? Pwetty please?

My mistake. Adjusted the headline.

So it was 17s :) Mell tanked Pol and DW first. We did all the bosses with full mechanics (except for the blue phase at Ur-Draug - too much DPS, which I believe is a good thing). Mell did really good and it's ok to run relaxed 18s in future.

We had few additional wipes at the fifth Pol boss and the sixth DW boss - thanks to healer. Fist healing comes with great responsibility - adds aggro management. Good thing, I can fist heal truck hits from Wayeb Xul. Great thanks to everyone for letting me learn as well.

Hell Raised went very well as for the first time tanking. Macroshocks and Searing Brands were new things to learn as they appear on many occassions :) We stopped at Machine Tyrant as it was alredy third hour of our run, and the unforgiving mechanics did not encourage us. We managed to survive till the second phase of MT fight - we need more practice. My first MT tank kill was like after dozens of tries, so comparing to my experience, Mell is a much faster learner :P

We'll be going to Hell Eternal next week (I believe - Floryn will confirm) and then try Hell Raised again. That's for a learning purpose. In the meantime we can do unscheduled relaxed 18s for practice.

Congratulations to Mellified!

Thanks BP! And thanks to everyone else for coming - I had loads of (mostly good and mostly timely :) ) advice and a forgiving/understanding team. I didn't realise how much the tank has to do at Machine Tyrant - I usually just run around madly and shoot MT when I am pointing in the right direction as a DPS.
Congrats to Broken Pieces on becoming a doctor! I'm looking forward to next week.

My idea was to do HR again (with Polaris and DW) but going for HE is fine too. I think Mel should decide what he wants to do.
