Come up with a 9S tagline - it's gotta be short, punchy and unlikely to offend as we will want to use it publically.

There are many things to say about Nine Swords, so finding "the" motto is a difficult task. Should it be descriptif ? It can, but then it is usually a long phrase (or at least several words long). So maybe not so handy if we have to shout it out regularly. So rather something short and powerful ? And in what language ? English ? Latin, as was proposed in the previous thread ? French, as many mottos sometimes are (carried over during the Norman times or later) ? Personally, considering that we Templars have our roots deep in history, and the fact that it adds a mysterious touch, I would go with Latin, Greek or another ancient language. Unfortenately my knowledge of those languages is none existant so I had to search the Internet and rely on Google Translate. My apologies to however knows the languages and finds fault with what I made of it.

During this search I found several mottos that caught my attention because they ring true to Nine Swords and are certainly applicable to us. So it has been a difficult to select just one ! "Semper paratum" and "Semper fidelius" have been two that tickeld me (Always ready / Always faithful). But they are also mottos for known military units so that may be a bit too obvious. Two others that also caught my attention were "Gladiis maiorem gloriam" (For the greater glory of the Swords) and "Inveniam viam aut faciam" (I shall find a way or make one), but I thought the first one might be a bit bombastic and the other one might be a bit difficult to cry (write) out every so often unless we start learning Latin.

So finally, here is my proposal for a short, forcefull and representative motto for our Nine Swords cabal:

NON INULTUS PREMOR

One of the translation given in English is "I cannot be touched unavenged". The French have translated it to "Qui s'y frotte, s'y pique". It is, amongst others, the motto of the city of Nancy (France) that has a thistle as emblem (a prickly flower).

For me, this motto means that whaterver happens, I will always have Swords in my back to help and support me, and if need, yes, to avenge me. Messing with one of us is taking on ALL of us (a bit of One for All, All for one but the latin is shorter ).

I went over so many ideas I started drafting a poem instead of a tagline... which wasn't the point, so I stopped that and came up with some other ideas.

I had others (Beloved of the Muses; A sword for each circle of Hell) but you threw me with the 'one entry only', so... we'll go with the one above.
