Manufactory Elite - Tuesday 1 September, 18:00 GMT

Post by Elil »

Nobody seems to be running this in our cabal, but Naite and I (and I'm sure a lot of you!) would like the lore, and to complete this...
Someone who's already completed this would be a cheeky bonus, and a tank would be welcome. :)

2. Elil (DPS)
3. Mellified (DPS)
4. Goge (DPS)

I have run the manufactory quite regularly since its release (elite that is) and it really is quite fun. I would recommend that you read the TSWDB guide beforehand as it gives a very good overview over the dungeon and its mechanics. Furthermore, without spoiling anything for those who want to figure out the mechanics on their own, I do recommend completing the penthouse elite first for the 2.0 upgrade kit you receive upon completion. The 2.0 controller offers an almost 50% increase in the amount of healing is done to an AEGIS shield with every direct heal ability.

Below are some recommendations on how to spend your first 2.0 upgrade kit, however, I will mark it with a spoiler tag so that those who do not wish to have it spoiled can avoid it.
Beware of Spoiler!
As a healer, you should upgrade your main hand cybernetic controller as it is the shield used most in the manufactory. As a DPS and tank it is less important, though a tank with a 2.0 cybernetic shield is easier to heal. For DPSes, the main hand Psychic and cybernetic controllers should go to 2.0 first

When? With whom? Why isn't there an organised run for new content in the cabal? I've seen one Flappy run (I know no-one world-wide has beaten it yet), I've seen one Penthouse Elite run organised, and this is the first Manufactory run. I've not seen mention of the NM version, and very limited talk of the NM Penthouse? Yet loads of people are talking about having done them so often their are bored! I am just on at all the wrong times and miss it in chat?

The runs have been with cabalees. The runs have generally been spontaneous and therefore not scheduled on the noticeboard. The latest run was today though, there are also some screenshots from some of the runs on the screenshot thread here: https://www.nine-swords.com/viewtopic.p ... &start=240 The first run I was a part of was shortly after the Elite version's release, where it took us four hours, though we did not kill the final boss. Now on the other hand we generally get through the dungeon in 45-60 minutes, this is partially because the runs I do through the manufactory all use voice chat, which makes it much easier to take down the bosses.

EDIT: I would also like to add, just to clarify, that the reason why I have not signed up for this is that I have a lecture that ends shortly before this run, and therefore I cannot guarantee that I will be home in time for it, otherwise I would have been happy to come along to tank it.

So when is the 'right time' to be on to be around for these impromptu runs?

There is no right time and there is no wrong time, I simply do not always schedule runs I do on the noticeboard for various reasons, some of which are them being spontaneous, already being in a group when deciding to proceed and so forth. Any member of Nine Swords is allowed and encouraged to use the noticeboard in order to schedule events which they wish to see happen, as such I am generally happy to sign up for such runs, but this time I fear I will be home too late for when this one is set to begin. My only intention behind posting here was to provide some information pertaining to the manufactory as I would like nothing more than for cabal scheduled runs to succeed. I apologise if I have managed to insult someone along the way as that was not my intention.

You haven't insulted anyone, it's just frustrating when you only have a few hours (at most) a night to play and no one seems to be organising anything. Logging in and seeing 5 people in the Penthouse and/or another 5 in the Manufactory is very annoying as it begins to seem like there's a magic moment in time you have to be on for in order to stand a chance to go.

Elil and I only organised this because it's been at least two weeks since the Manufactory was opened and there has only been one organised attempt, and two attempts at Penthouse. Yet the New York raid still runs 4 times a week. It seems as if no one is interested in the new content, at least that's the impression I get from the Noticeboard.

I know we can't force people to play content, it's meant to be fun for everyone, but it's worrying that the notice board and organised events do not seem to embrace new content.

As previously mentioned, this is why we have the noticeboard. I am hoping that more members willrealise that it exists because this is a great tool to organise events, especially if you cannot be online all day.

As for this run, I am again very sorry that I am unable to attend, I would perhaps be able to join had the run been 15 or 30 minutes later, however, as that is not the case, I have not signed up. I might even be back in time, but I don't want to make a full group wait for me alone (busses are very unpredictable as it turns out).

There is no "magic" hour where you have to be online in order to get a run done, though as is to be expected, activity declines during the week.
