The most romantic date I have ever been on in SWL was: Going through the carpark in Tokyo with Sam515 to get him the achievement. And if going through the carpark isn't love I don't know what is!

The first time I fell in love in SWL it was a deep love.

With a Deep One.

As a kid growing up in Guernsey (a small island between Britain and France), our local corner shop sometimes had one or two Marvel comics. Which I devoured. There were adverts for American things like 'Earn extra income selling Grits' (what the hell were Grits?) - and also for a plastic model kit of 'The Creature from the Black Lagoon.' Like this:

I wanted it SOOOOOOOOOO bad. I fell hook, line and sinker. But it would forever remain beyond my reach as it came all the way from America.

So, imagine my surprise when a Deep One emerged from the ocean in Kingsmouth. The influences were obvious. My boyhood dream was there before me in all its slobbering glory.

I needed a long pause before I could shoot it.

Older and wiser now, I still have a smile on my face every time I jog along the beach and dodge the Deep Ones. I'm so glad I don't have to kill them anymore.
