I still cannot find this door. I only "know" it is in Scorched Desert because of the type of door and the painting.. thats common in Scorched Desert and not in City of the Sun God.

Please put me out my misery

Your guess is correct: this is in the Scorched Desert. It is behind Hotel Wahid. If you continue to the east after climbing behind the pool, there are rocks where some tougher (for that map) ghouls reside... and a path which leads to that door.
