Gambling Night event

Post by Zornica »

Comedy Division presents "Gambling Night":

This is a friendly gambling event using the "roll" chat function and loosely based on the ISSF final rules. Each player pays and entry fee, fragments will be used, and at the end the winner takes all the collected goodies.

There will be 2 phases: "Elimination" and "Final". We start as a group of up to 5 (including the dealer) so we are able to see the rolls.

The "dealer" for the event will give commands in chat and input the numbers in a sheet available for reading so each player (even the audience if any) can see the current results. The dealer might or might not participate in the event, in case of playing will be paying entry fee just as everyone.

In "Elimination" we do 3 rounds, each of 3 rolls which will be summed and the player with the lowest sum will be eliminated. The sums are carried on through the entire phase. In case of ties at elimination phase, there will be a specific "Tie-breaker" round only for the tied players. The one with the lowest roll will be the losing and eliminated. Those rolls WON'T be added to the sums of the the players still in the competition. In the end there will be 2 players left that will proceed to the "Final" phase.

The "Final" consists of rolls between the last two standing players. They will do series of rolls. On each roll the player with the higher number will get 2 points, the other one gets none. In the rare case of equal rolls they each get 1 point. The rolls continue until one of the finalists achieve a score of 8 and above and wins the whole event and the jackpot.

Players can chat in group/cabal chat or discord, as long as they are not chatting during the rolls execution. Commands will be given in group chat.

Additional rules:
  • Only 1 roll is allowed per person at a time, consecutive rolls will not be counted. Too many rolls will lead to a "yellow flag".
  • Rolls should be done after command and should be done in a timely manner, 1 min should be more than enough. Rolls prior to command will not be counted and result in "yellow flag". Too late or no rolls per round result in 0 point.
  • No talk in "say" is allowed! Results in "yellow flag".
  • In case of crashes, the player gets 0 points for the affected round(s). No refunds!
  • Talking in group chat while roll is going on is frowned upon, since it makes the dealer job harder, and might result in "yellow flag".
  • 3 "yellow flags" will get you disqualified, no refunds!
The event will be scheduled for 26.10 at 1900UTC. Will be held in Seoul Arena, so maybe more cabal member can get familiarized with it and (hopefully) join other Seoul adventures. Also, rule breaking might result in head-shots from event security team 😛

Depending on number of people interested we can do consecutive groups/events. We can even make a slightly longer event with semi-finals if enough interested.

Entry fee per participation will be 2 fragments, lets start with Talisman ones. Should be given to the dealer at start of event and grouping.

Participants:

1. GunnerySgt
2. Lisiasty
3. Kichu
4. Xantheavia
5. Wodnica

So the event happened. We didn't have many gamblers but we still had enough to do preliminary elimination rounds. We got enough time and willing players for 2 games! Yay!!! Thank you all for coming and your patience. Hope you liked it and maybe we can make another Gambling Night soon. If you have any suggestions how we can make it easier or more enjoyable pls comment here.

Here is a picture from the games, taken from the actual sheets used in the event.

A natural 1... you need a saving throw, I guess.
If it's taking damage, heal it. If it's not, heal it all the same -- it might soon take damage.
