The best way to train someone in the ranged DPS role for example is to have them do it alongside someone else, not have them do it on their own.

Yup, that's how I learned, did it alongside Kisshoten a few times. I think it's also easier to make it in as a "learner" on the Sunday raid it's more populated so easier to move people around/fallback, you just have to be quick on the signups.
