Scheduling events.

Question: Is it possible to make the user time zone more prominent on the calendar? For example, in the overview of the week or month, have your time zone shown directly on it. [for anyone not aware, if you set your time zone in your web profile, not just the forum profile, you will see your time zone shown in the event. Ask if you don’t know how].

Could event organisers please check for times accessible to various members when scheduling? [This is picked up in the point below].

Establishing a set schedule of events might be useful.

Increasing Forum Use

Currently, the forum is the intended hub for event coordination and publicity. It would benefit everyone if more people used it to sign up for events and share requirements.

Suggestions to encourage this included MotD [with periodic refresh, and different coloured texts], reminders, and info cards. [Action: Waspstar will put together an info card for this in the near future]. [Action: everyone—use the forum!! xD]

Acknowledgement that some people don’t like using forums. No current system is ideal for all, so compromises needed whatever we use.

Discord

Some mentioned Discord as an alternative. In the past, it was found that a moderator was needed. This may not be an issue amongst our current group [no guarantees!], but could be when there are people from outside the cabal participating. Also, many don’t use Discord either.

Publicising Other Events

A nice easy one. The General / Looking for Group channels are not visible in all parts of the game. This means opportunities get missed. Solution: if you see a group forming for something that might be of interest to others, please re-post it into the Cabal Channel. [Action: everyone].

Positivity

Several people commented on the helpful, friendly, and positive tone in the cabal. We all laugh at SWL’s flaws from time to time [I know I do, especially if Cassar is the victim]. Let’s make sure we keep the right balance, both in the cabal and public chat. Despite the game’s known issues, we take it as a given that we are all here because we choose to be, and enjoy playing it 

Social & Other Events

Some people enjoyed the social aspect and asked about other kinds of events we might run, such as Hide and Seek, OD-related, and Fashion Show type things. If there’s sufficient interest, why not? All suggestions are very welcome!

No, it is only possible with the calendar module for the timezone info to be in the detail view.


2. Forum Use / MotD
MOTD is a fixed colour from the game.
All leaders can edit the MOTD message though to include events / actual things.

3. Discord
You can use whatever voice chat you want. 9S officially just uses for our raids / leaderboard.

4. Publicising Other Events
I like this IF someone from the cabal is in that team / participating .. otherwise, like today - I signed up to help, and that person wasn't in the team..

5. Positivity
Agreed - and also a reason why our General Conduct is getting an update this week. Keep your eyes peeled for that.

6. Social & Other Events
If you have ideas for events, run with them. If it sucks, we don't do it again - but it is always fun to do things in 9S

I think the idea here is more meant that people paste things from LFG for the benefit of people out in the playfields and not day dreaming in Agartha.

Yes, that's the idea -- especially during the daytime when it's very difficult to get a lair run, for example. If someone is in an area that doesn't see lfg, they'll miss a rare chance to participate.
