Thanksgiving

Post by Pluto »

Happy Turkey day to all the Americans in 9S. Now let's celebrate this AMAZING holiday by gutting a flightless fowl, slaving in a kitchen all day, watching some overpriced jocks throw an inflated pig skin, switch channels to a giant parade that probably is the only thing keeping our economy afloat, and then settle down to dinner with estranged family members. And lets not forget tomorrow, the blackest of all holidays.

Seriously, happy thanksgiving you blighters :P

Xee - you are funny! He means Black Friday, the big day of sales that will probably be remembered more as Black Friday, the day when people gave their souls to the devil for a new HDTV.

Happy Thanksgiving guys :)

...I hope you had a good Thanksgiving day :) We already had ours a month ago.

In Québec, Thanksgiving is held the second Monday of October. It's not really celebrated the way it is in the United States. There's no such thing as a Thanksgiving dinner; it's rather a long weekend where people often visit relatives and friends.

It's held earlier than in the United States since it's originally a celebration occurring at the time of harvest. The climate being different here, winter comes earlier, hence harvesting is done earlier as well, hence setting Thanksgiving (Fall Harvest) earlier.

That was your daily trivia :)
